Charlotte, being that it’s one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S has many glitz and glamour waiting to be found. Although the city is well known for the job market that is obvious during the day time, at night the city is also capable of putting up a whole new different face to greet the the pleasure seekers at that time of day.
During the day, when most of the population works and get them busy with the tasks that produce income for them, life seems to be spent away. Especially when you’re a young professional who has just started with his job not a good 5 years yet. These years are in fact considered some of the most crucial. It may not pale in comparison with the middle aged years which we have heard so much about.
I still remembered how my life was on this period. Work wasn’t exactly that tough since you’re still filled with energy. Once you get past the learning curve of your duties it becomes pretty much a breeze. After just a few months it feels like you get exhausted more with the lack of fun and excitement rather than the real work load. Like me, when you’re at this stage, this is probably the first time you’ll meet with repetitive work and boy I’m sure you’ll despise it. I know since it has taken me years to shave off that feeling. Not that it’s a terrible thing for anyone; it’s just that sometimes this feeling is what keeps us from being consistent; and so it’s in times like these that there is enough reason to find something which will jolt our senses every once in a while. Others from outside our circle should understand that we live during a time when we are barely out of the freshness of school and into the dull life of being a professional. I know this is the perfect time for an anecdote but I can’t think of any right now.
Having been living in Charlotte for several months now, I can safely say that this city has managed come up with the sparkle that the 20s something needs. Suite Charlotte NC is the city’s most exclusive nightclub. It is well known throughout and even outside the city for its great feel and powerhouse DJs which really are the top two reasons why we choose to go to a club.
- top of the line sound system and lighting
- exclusivity ambience since there is a dress which allows no sneakers inside
- world class amenities and service
- world renowned VIP section
Also, partying and dancing has never been so easy since each visit would be a delight if you’re selective of your music. Because of the superior artists embodied in the DJs that raises the floor with their music, one will be assured that music entertainment would not be a problem inside of the Suite!
Let’s face it, if you want to get something done you always want to do it yourself. People who are confident enough of themselves (like me) far too often charges at every tasks as a challenge. That is just how some people are hard wired. But recently, during an event photography in Charlotte; I’ve learned that having that mindset doesn’t always work on your advantage.
To paint a better picture, I’m going to tell you something about myself; since I’ve already stated that this post has something to do with a fairly typical human reaction. And yes, having a difficult time trusting a task to another soul is a reaction. In no way or form would I agree that having this in someone’s personality is a deficiency. Although there are some “psychotic gist” err, ‘psychologists that deems it as so. I refuse to allow others on treating this personality that I have of something close to a disease or sickness. There will never be a time where I will not be willing to get into a debate about why I choose to take most of the responsibilities even when sometimes tasked with a team.
Photography is a precision business. Although it might have sprung out from hobbyist, the techniques and studies of all photographers that came and went is enough to fill a humongous library. There is now enough knowledge, technique and history in photography for it to create another branch of science. That is why the once hobby is now a full time profession. It is a career where the clients can easily decipher which photographer is the season one and which are the beginners based on their works’ results (and not on the paycheck they will request).
A professional photographer is someone who has spent much of his time perfecting the meticulous demands of the business. One of the most challenging thing as a potential client is to choose who should cover such important events of your life. The number of phony would-be photographers who are posing as professionals out there is enough to get someone who doesn’t have much patience to lose it faster. But somehow as a person who has a valid reason to hire a professional, somehow you have got to find a way a longer piece of string as patience to come out of your event as a happy camper. I learned this the hard way. As I’m sure you have already imagined; this semi rant post is about the moral lesson a person learnt by committing a mistake.
I did come out a smarter person because of the experience. I did learned, (although it was too late) that in order to figure out the professional from the who’s not you got to have the patience to browse at a prospect’s portfolio. It may sound silly to you, but a lot of people forget to turn on their computer and check if the claim of someone has some truth into it online. A professional should always have his work displayed online. That is already a well-accepted fact.
A photographer usually starts his journey towards making his hobby into a full blown career with small events. Event photography Charlotte NC is a wonderful business to be involved in this vibrant city. There are so many corners in the city of Charlotte good enough to be in anyone’s wallpaper.
Events hosted by relatives and friends usually are the first testing grounds for any would be photographer. In this exciting time when the technology is now able to finally catch up with the talent growth of people, there is always something to learn on this business. A good photographer always wants to be on top of his game. He is forced to feel this way because of his commitment to provide the best possible quality of photographs to his clients. And so if you meet any photographer who says they have already reached the pinnacle of what they do and that they have stopped learning. It’s time to stop looking at their brochure and walk away. The industry that they are in dictates perpetual learning and they should be the first to know that by heart.
There is more to photography than just buying the most expensive camera with the most megapixels. Here are some tips from experience that should help you to get the most out of events especially the most important ones.
A great photo is 50% preparation
Visualizing and knowing what shots you’re going to take even before you get to an event isn’t overkill. It’s how the pros do it. Think about it, the kiss at the end of the ceremony lasts only a second on some weddings but its one thing you should not miss, because if you do you’re probably going to miss the paycheck too. Knowing what you want before it happens in front of you ensures that you get that cover off your lens before something important happens.
Pack the right lenses
Since you’ve already marched on the event venue the day before (because you’ve come prepared right?) you should have an idea what kind of lenses you will bring with you. This means that you have an idea where you’ll be at for a photo and the distance from the subject. Also you’ll be able to plan the lighting.
Add a drop of story on every image
The event you’ll be covering is important for at least several people. An event is something old over and over again by those who hosted it to their friends and relatives. AS a photographer you want you pictures to back up those stories they’re going to tell.
Don’t be afraid to get closer
Have you ever noticed that in sports events it’s the photographers that the athletes often crash to? It’s because if you want to be like a pro, you have to act like them. Learning their ways and how they want to be as close to the action as possible means that you should do the same. Its how they are able to deliver those incredible shots we see everywhere. Get close and personal. Stand your ground.
