A Lesson About Photography in Charlotte

Let’s face it, if you want to get something done you always want to do it yourself. People who are confident enough of themselves (like me) far too often charges at every tasks as a challenge. That is just how some people are hard wired. But recently, during an event photography in Charlotte; I’ve learned that having that mindset doesn’t always work on your advantage.

To paint a better picture, I’m going to tell you something about myself; since I’ve already stated that this post has something to do with a fairly typical human reaction. And yes, having a difficult time trusting a task to another soul is a reaction. In no way or form would I agree that having this in someone’s personality is a deficiency. Although there are some “psychotic gist” err, ‘psychologists that deems it as so. I refuse to allow others on treating this personality that I have of something close to a disease or sickness. There will never be a time where I will not be willing to get into a debate about why I choose to take most of the responsibilities even when sometimes tasked with a team.

Photography is a precision business. Although it might have sprung out from hobbyist, the techniques and studies of all photographers that came and went is enough to fill a humongous library. There is now enough knowledge, technique and history in photography for it to create another branch of science. That is why the once hobby is now a full time profession. It is a career where the clients can easily decipher which photographer is the season one and which are the beginners based on their works’ results (and not on the paycheck they will request).

Professional Photographer-1

A professional photographer is someone who has spent much of his time perfecting the meticulous demands of the business. One of the most challenging thing as a potential client is to choose who should cover such important events of your life. The number of phony would-be photographers who are posing as professionals out there is enough to get someone who doesn’t have much patience to lose it faster. But somehow as a person who has a valid reason to hire a professional, somehow you have got to find a way a longer piece of string as patience to come out of your event as a happy camper. I learned this the hard way. As I’m sure you have already imagined; this semi rant post is about the moral lesson a person learnt by committing a mistake.

I did come out a smarter person because of the experience. I did learned, (although it was too late) that in order to figure out the professional from the who’s not you got to have the patience to browse at a prospect’s portfolio. It may sound silly to you, but a lot of people forget to turn on their computer and check if the claim of someone has some truth into it online. A professional should always have his work displayed online. That is already a well-accepted fact.

A great photo is 50% preparation

Photographers

Visualizing and knowing what shots you’re going to take even before you get to an event isn’t overkill. It’s how the pros do it. Think about it, the kiss at the end of the ceremony lasts only a second on some weddings but its one thing you should not miss, because if you do you’re probably going to miss the paycheck too. Knowing what you want before it happens in front of you ensures that you get that cover off your lens before something important happens.

Pack the right lenses

Since you’ve already marched on the event venue the day before (because you’ve come prepared right?) you should have an idea what kind of lenses you will bring with you. This means that you have an idea where you’ll be at for a photo and the distance from the subject. Also you’ll be able to plan the lighting.

Add a drop of story on every image

The event you’ll be covering is important for at least several people. An event is something old over and over again by those who hosted it to their friends and relatives. AS a photographer you want you pictures to back up those stories they’re going to tell.

Don’t be afraid to get closer

sinulog photographers

Have you ever noticed that in sports events it’s the photographers that the athletes often crash to? It’s because if you want to be like a pro, you have to act like them. Learning their ways and how they want to be as close to the action as possible means that you should do the same. Its how they are able to deliver those incredible shots we see everywhere. Get close and personal. Stand your ground.

English: Spiering PhotographyPhotography has been a passion that has gained great momentum lately. As one walks around the city block one is sure to find someone who has got a camera strapped somewhere in his body. Manufacturers around the world have introduced waves of new digital cameras that are unparalleled in features and capabilities of cameras that have just been released a few years earlier.

Since it’s the month of June, imagine you’re with someone and you’re both a couple. On this month what usually comes to mind is tying the knot. A lot of guys have been popping the question and gals are busy planning for the big day because they answered yes. This is when it gets busy! Someone has to take care of the gown, the venue, the place, don’t forget the guest list, the food and all the trouble that goes in it, and guess what – the one has to figure out on who takes care of the photography as well. A wedding as we all would prefer it is a onetime deal. I know some would wish that we preserve the moment in a time capsule so we can attend to the moment anytime we like. But of course that’s not possible, the best we could have is a nice wedding album. A photographer takes care of that.

I’m sure almost everyone has found themselves stuck in a living room with nothing to do because you were left by the host to tend to something quick. Beneath the center table you help yourself by browsing through the magazine and you might be in luck and get a wedding album. It doesn’t matter what age were you then, the that album would have struck you as magnificent and you’ll do the most natural thing that a person does – you would vow to get the same visual feast for yourself when you wed.

Skyline of Charlotte, North CarolinaPhotographers in Charlotte know the ins and outs of the city and where and when to find the best background for those photos you dare to crave. Added that taking pictures does not just know where to shoot but when to shoot those pictures further complicates the profession of taking pictures. Some great places on where to shoot are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Freedom Park just about the Amphitheater, Memorial Garden in Concord can all serve as backdrop to that magnificent photos to build the album you dream of. Knowing what time of the day so these places are at their “peak of color” is as important as knowing where these places are.

A professional photographer spends many hours perfecting their craft and they do this to capture a photo that speaks directly to the viewer’s heart. So that when someone drops by in your living room, you can provide them the same experience you had.
